EXCELLENT Based on 55 reviews Posted on Google Nick SeeleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. There is nowhere else in LA you should be taking your instrument. Fender Rhodes LA is IT. Nir is one of the most knowledgeable and thorough practicioners of his craft you will ever find. I first took my Seventy Three Mark II in 9 years ago for the FIRST servicing it had ever had in my then 12 years of ownership. He had it sounding the best it ever had in about a week. But I had not yet unlocked the full potential of the keyboard. At the time, he had just started selling his custom pre-amp, modeled after the original Peterson preamps from the 70's. It was outboard gear and I wasn't interested at the time. When I came back a month ago for a few issues I was having (a dead note, uneven tone), he had a new inline model that replaced the faceplate on the keyboard (see photo). I said yes and had him do the normal servicing. He also upgraded the front shims and the hammertip configuration. When I came back to inspect his work and pick up my keyboard, it was like I was playing a brand new instrument. First the preamp: it is a MUST HAVE if you are serious about getting the most out of your Rhodes. It has an extraordinary amount of detail that you cannot get normally. I love playing with the tone controls because there is no "one good sound." It's all to taste. I can turn down the shine and get a sound that is very similar to how it sounded before - warm and dark, or I can turn it up and get all of the bite and bark and detail I want. When I turn down the body, it's can be good to balance the sound or I can go to an extreme and make a band-passed tone that is fun to overdrive with a fuzz pedal. Most of the time, I keep the body all the way up and the shine around 2 or 3 o clock. The vibrato effect is so beautiful and aquatic. It adds a whole new emotional depth to anything I play. Worth the price of admission on this alone. The noise floor is EXTREMELY low as well. With the gain all the way up, I don't hear anything. It's only when I had an overdrive pedal engaged that I can hear the noise floor - and even then it's not bad at all. I'm in love with FX send and return. I plugged in my pedal board I used to run my Rhodes through and there were no gain-staging issues at all. It just works and the levels are perfect. I dig that the vibrato effect happens after the return stage. Great design choice. When I put on my chorus effect and the vibrato, it's like I'm swimming underwater. So vibey! I've had several other players over to check it out and they all agree - it might be the best Rhodes they've ever played on. They all commented on the sound but one in particular commented on the action being so responsive and fun to play; he wasn't used to that on a Rhodes. Speaking of the action, it's snappier and more responsive in a way that truly feels unlike it was before, thanks to Nir's shim upgrade. Between the feel and sound, it doesn't even seem like I'm playing the same Rhodes. If you've been on the fence about getting your instrument serviced or who should do it. Just do it. Go to Fender Rhodes LA. Get the preamp while you're at it. Nir is the guy. Fender Rhodes LA is LEGIT.Posted on Google Robert DelgadilloTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Top Notch! I found an old Rhodes Mark II on Reverb and started installing some new parts until I felt out of my depth. Then I took it to Nir who went through everything it needed with me. We agreed on the scope of work and the price and less than a week later I returned to retrieve my AMAZING sounding 45 year old piano. We spent well over an hour testing the piano with pedals I was invited to bring. I was also taught how to make basic adjustments on my own. This was a fantastic experience from beginning to end and I cannot recommend Nir more highly. He truly cares about his work and I actually feel spoiled.Posted on Google Eye SkyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was gifted a Rhodes that had been in a damp garage for over a decade and was not operational. Nir brought it back to the living both functionally and cosmetically. Quick professional, and a nice person as well. Cheers!Posted on Google Jeff A.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've brought in my Rhodes twice to Nir. I appreciate the time he spends explaining what needs to be done to get the piano in pristine condition. He gives me options on his recommendations and what's necessary. Nir's attention to detail is second to none. His communication even after you leave is exceptional. He works with you to make the experience stress free. Every time I leave his workshop, I feel more knowledgeable about the instrument like I sat in a class session with a master teacher! He is definitely one of a kind!Posted on Google Shinkawasaki (shinkawasaki)Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nir is very knowledgeable, thorough and friendly. Nir made it easy to work with my busy schedule and completely transform the playing experience of my Rhodes Mark I Stage 73. You will not be disappointed.Posted on Google Mary MathewsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My Fender Rhodes 73 Suitcase was in rough shape. It had multiple issues including mold and a cracked case. It had been through several owners when I got it and was in need of repair. Nir Benjaminy did an incredible job restoring it to pristine condition. The sound, action and appearance are like new. He explained in detail what he was doing along with pictures during the repair process. He stuck with the quoted price even though he found more issues once it was taken apart. I’m so thrilled with how it came out including restoring the amp and speakers to that original vibrato/tremolo it’s noted for. Nir also restored a Rhodes bass to its original condition and sound. I highly recommend him for any Fender Rhodes restorations. Very professional and excellent work. Thanks Nir!Posted on Google Zac BeusTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Brought in my 79 Rhodes to get Nir’s preamp. He spent almost 2 hours with me, teaching me about tips for maintenance and tuning, tricks of the trade, and just freely sharing his wealth of knowledge and passion for Rhodes keyboards. We tried tremolo kits from a few other companies that he had there to compare, and his system completely eclipsed it in tone, performance, and quality. Will definitely be coming back for future service and tips.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
